How Much Do Custom Patches Cost?
A straight answer, not a runaround. Here’s what actually moves the price, plus a starting-point guide before you request your quote.
Flat pricing under 5 inches
Most patch companies raise their price as your patch gets bigger, even within a standard size range. Ours stays flat for anything under 5 inches, so the size of your design within that range won’t change your quote.
25-unit minimum
A lot of patch companies won’t take an order below 50 or 100 units. Our 25-unit minimum is genuinely rare in this industry, so a small first batch or a single team’s roster doesn’t need to turn into a bigger commitment than you wanted.
What Determines the Price
Patch pricing depends on a handful of specific factors. Once you know what they are, you can estimate where your order will land before you ever request a quote.
Patch Type
Embroidered patches are built from stitched thread, so more colors and detail mean more cost. Woven captures fine detail without added stitch count. PVC and dye sublimation keep things simple. Bullion crest and felt use specialty materials that carry their own cost. Blank patches are priced at our base rate.
Size and Detail
Under 5 inches, our pricing is flat regardless of exact size. Above that, bigger patches use more material and thread, and fine detail or tight color separations add production time.
Quantity
This is where most of the savings happen. Orders start at 25 units, well below the industry-standard minimum, with better per-unit pricing at 100, 200, and 500+. Ordering one larger batch instead of several small ones is usually your biggest lever.
Backing Type
Iron-on is simplest for bulk application. Sew-on holds up best under heavy wear or industrial washing. Velcro costs a bit more since it needs two components, but lets you swap patches in and out. Peel-and-stick and button loop backing are also available for specific use cases.
Turnaround Time
Standard production is 8 to 10 business days after you approve your digital proof. Need it faster? Ask about rush. We charge no rush fees.
